I decided to get a MCSA/MCSE at the beginning for March because that I had nothing to do. I finished my MBA program in last November and went through the degree assignment at early February. After that, I learned several days Tcl/Tk and eventually I found it is such an easy language without challenge to me. OK, I went back to Perl and implemented to Movable Type weblog. Once I successfully installed and configured it well and learned the template tag language, I became free again.
I had to find something to do, otherwise I would just sit in the office and watch the screen – not the content on the screen but just the screen frame. Fortunately, I remembered that I do not have any Microsoft certified/proved experiences. I decided to learn Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and get a MCSA/MCSE certification. The book was shipped by amazon.com, and I already finished reading (just reading, without going through the examination) the first 70-290 Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment . Today, I decide to put the reading note on my weblog. The idea is that I learned from a personal weblog in which is the owner’s diary of his experience for applying the graduate school.
The book I am currently reading is the second one, 70-291 Implementing, Managing, and maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure. The only feeling I have right now is that Microsoft is trying to make easy things difficult. Such as DNS, it is very easy under Linux and what an administrator needs to do is that modify a text file. Even though you can do the same under Windows, firstly it is not recommended and secondly you have to COPY that text file FROM a BIND (Unix/Linux) server.
Any way, I am reading and will keep reading (I hope) the books and apply the examination. Which is my personal mission in 2004.
