This document is only for self reference.

Tools require:
1. MapSource
2. GMapTool http://www.noeman.org/gsm/software-tools/
   http://www.anpo.republika.pl/download.html#gmaptool
3. cGPSmapper http://www.cgpsmapper.com

1. Install MapSource
1.1 MapSource can be downloaded from Garmin official website, the only issue is that the downloading file is only upgrade version.  So you have to follow the following steps.
1.2 Extract the downloaded .exe MapSource file to a temporary folder.
1.3 Run MSmain.msi in the folder, it will automatically install MapSource into C:MapSource
1.4 Some documents said it will automatically create a c:Garmin folder, at least 6.16.3 won’t.  Create one by yourself.
       1.5 Create a Map folder under c:Garmin

2. Install Gmaptool and create the map
2.1 Just install and run Gmaptool
2.2 Add maps by ‘Add Files’, has to have the gmapbmap.img base map, otherwise it won’t show the zoom larger than 30KM.  And add other maps by .img file.
2.3 Click ‘Info’, write down the 25 digits unlock code if it has.
2.4 Go to ‘Split’ tab, point Directory to c:GarminMaps, click ‘Split All’

3. Compile the map
3.1 Extract cgpsmapper and copy all 4 files into c:GarminMaps
3.2 Run install.bat, now MapSource has the map

4. Generate the map
4.1 For using in the device, you need use join the .img maps to either gmapprom.img (ROM), gmapsupp.img (ROM) or gmapsupp.img (SD card).
4.2 For any locked map, you need gmapsupp.unl in the same folder.  Every 25 digits unlock code should be in the first line in gmapsupp.unl, separated by space, just one line.
